Dear Reader, we posted keyboard shortcuts list a few days back. Here is your 20 important shortcuts for Microsoft Word.

Shortcut Keys Using Ctrl Key:

  1. Ctrl + B – Used to bold the selected text.
  2. Ctrl + I – Used to italicize the selected text.
  3. Ctrl + U – Used to underline the selected text.
  4. Ctrl + E – Align the line or selected text to the centre of the screen.
  5. Ctrl +Shift + F12 – Prints the document.
  6. Ctrl + Shift + F6 – Switches to another open Microsoft Word document.
  7. Ctrl + Shift + F – Will activate the Font option and you can select the required font.
  8. Ctrl + Shift + < – Decrease the font size one value.
  9. Ctrl + Shift + > – Increase the font size one value.
  10. Ctrl + Enter – Insert Page break.
  11. Ctrl + K – To insert a hyperlink.
  12. Ctrl + ‘=’ – for subscript. (First select a text, then press Ctrl + ‘=’)
  13. Ctrl + Shift + ‘+’ – for superscript. (First select a text, then press Ctrl + Shift + ‘+’)

Shortcut Keys Using Ctrl + Function Key

  1. Ctrl + F2 – Display the print preview command.
  2. Ctrl + F4 – Close the window.
  3. Ctrl + F6 – Go to the next window.
  4. Ctrl + F10 – Maximise the document window.
  5. Ctrl + F12 – Display the open command.

Home and End Key

  1. Home – Moves the cursor position to the first character.
  2. End – Moves the cursor position to the last character.
